About Lila
Lila Malone launched Lila Malone Interiors, her full-service design firm, in Houston in 2020. Born and raised in San Antonio, Lila drew inspiration early on from her vibrant city and creative parents alike. Her father, a talented abstract painter, ignited her love affair with all things color. Her mother, who is also an interior designer, introduced her to their shared passion of interiors, which led Lila to pursue her career in design upon her graduation from The University of Alabama.
Lila has emerged as a cheerful, energetic and lively interior designer that aims to convey joy into every space. The culmination of her love of pattern, texture and all things color create her signature touches that set her apart from the norm. Her keen eye for combining new and old pieces allow each client’s space to tell a story of its own.
Lila Malone Interiors now has offices in both Houston and San Antonio, along with projects around the country. Lila currently resides in San Antonio with her husband, Mitchell, two little boys, Harrison and Thomas, and their chocolate Shih Tzu, Truffles.
The Team
Emily Gray was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she was drawn to the world of interior design from an early age. Having the opportunity to observe her father’s work firsthand within the construction industry of multi-family apartment buildings sparked an inherent interest within her for all aspects of design. This led her to explore her passion for colors, fabrics, and textures, beginning with her earliest days of redesigning her bedroom while growing up. Emily graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and quickly set out to launch her career in the interior design industry.
Emily joined Lila Malone Interiors in 2020 and serves as a Junior Design Associate for the team. You can find Emily overseeing daily operations and scheduling for the Houston office of LMI, in addition to managing collaborations with workrooms and the procurement of client orders. Emily operates as Lila’s right-hand gal and is a boots-on-the-ground team member for the Houston market. Her favorite aspect of the job is being part of helping transform a home into an exceptional space unique to each client and their specific design needs.
Outside of her work with Lila Malone Interiors, Emily loves exploring the world through travel, spending quality time with family in South Texas, and loving on her mini Goldendoodle, Freddie.
Leasa Roy, a native Houstonian, attended Sam Houston State University where she earned a degree in Interior Design. Following graduation, she spent the first 8 years of her career working in design industry showrooms and for multiple Houston-based interior designers, where she met and worked alongside Lila Malone while serving as design assistants together.
In 2016, Leasa joined Newberry Architecture as Marketing Director for the firm, a position she still maintains today. With a steadfast love for construction and interior design persisting in her career, Leasa took the opportunity to join the expanding team at Lila Malone Interiors in 2021 as Project Coordinator and currently oversees and manages construction projects on a day-to-day basis for clients.
Leasa’s greatest role is being the proud mother of her daughter, Lila, 7, and son, Cole, 4. When she is not wearing multiple hats in her life and career, Leasa loves volunteering at her children’s schools and enjoys all things family life with her husband, Jordan.
